CW Dance Company Competition Team Contract
*** 2026-2027 Season***
This agreement is made between CW Dance Company and the undersigned dancer/parent/guardian for the purpose of participation in the Competition Team for the 2026-2027 competition season. By signing this contract, both the dancer and their parent/guardian acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Commitment to the Team
Season Duration: The competition season runs from August 2026 to May 2027. The commitment includes all practices, competitions (3-4 required, 1-2 optional), rehearsals, and required events.
Attendance: Regular attendance is crucial for the success of the team. Dancers are expected to attend all scheduled practices, rehearsals, and performances unless there is an emergency or illness. Excessive absences without prior notice may result in removal from the team.
Any known dates that conflict with dancer’s schedule must be put in writing and given to Corrie by October 1st.
Dancers/parents are to message your class instructor to let them know of your absences for classes. Any dancer that misses more than 3 classes will have to have a mandatory private lesson to catch up on choreography and technique missed during class time. Excessive absences will result in loss of your place on the competition team.
Punctuality: Arriving on time for all rehearsals and events is essential. Late arrivals disrupt group progress and can impact on the overall team performance. If you are late, please use the front door. Please do not use the side door and/or ring the bell and disrupt class.
2. Required Classes & Rehearsals
Weekly Practices: All dancers are required to attend scheduled weekly practices. Failure to attend without prior communication could result in forfeiting a performance spot.
Additional Rehearsals: Additional rehearsal times may be scheduled as needed for competition preparation. These will be communicated in advance, and dancers are expected to make them a priority.
3. Fees & Payments
Competition Fees: Each parent/guardian is responsible for paying the required competition entry fees, which will be communicated 45-60 days prior to the scheduled competition dates. These fees are non-refundable and are due at least 30 days prior to each scheduled competition. A late fee of $25 will be added to accounts every 7 days that the balance goes unpaid.
Breakdown of average competition fees (these fees vary by competition):
Solo - $120-$200 per dance
Duet/Trio - $75-$120 per dance
Group - $60-$90 per dance
· Competitions set their own prices for their competitions. Corrie has no control over the amounts charged by each competition. Also, Corrie has no control over the scheduling for each competition. She has no prior knowledge of scheduling and will not be given information about each competition’s specific schedule until 10-14 days prior to each competition weekend.
Costume Fees: Costume fees for competition dances are due in full by October th1st. Costumes will be ordered based on these payments. If a dancer withdraws after costumes are ordered, any fees paid will be forfeited, and the costume becomes the property of the studio. A $25 late fee will be added to each costume if the payment is not made by the due date.
Monthly Tuition: Tuition fees are due on the 1st of each month. Tuition payments can be made via the studio's payment system. Automatic payment through DSP are encouraged. Failure to keep payments current may result in suspension from classes and competitions. Please review the CW Dance Company Financial Policy for additional details. Each dancer must have a card on file in their Dance Studio Pro accounts.
Travel Expenses: Travel expenses (transportation, lodging, food) for competitions are the responsibility of the dancer and their family. The studio will provide travel dates and event locations in advance.
4. Selection for Solos, Duets and Trios and Fees
The selection of dancers to participate in solos, duets, and trios for competitions is at the sole discretion of the studio owner and instructors. Instructors will choose the genre and have full control over choreography and costume selection, with input from the dancer and their parent/guardian.
Private lesson fees are as follows:
All private lesson fees are to be paid directly to the instructor. If a private lesson is canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, full payment is required. If the fee is not paid directly to the instructor, it will be added to your student account with an additional $10 added for administrative fees.
5. Behavior & Conduct
Respect & Sportsmanship: dancers are expected to demonstrate professionalism, respect, and good sportsmanship at all times, both in and out of the studio. Negative behavior, including but not limited to bullying, disrespect, or disruptive conduct, will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the team. This expectation extends to being a spectator at competitions. While supporting your teammates is encouraged, it is important to maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Please refrain from running through the venues or engaging in disruptive behavior such as performing cartwheels or excessive activity in the hallways. Remember that you represent the studio while attending events.
Teamwork: Competition dancers are part of a team. It is essential that dancers work together, support one another, and maintain a positive, cooperative attitude.
Studio Property: Dancers are expected to take good care of the studio’s property, including costumes, equipment, and facilities.
Parents/guardians: are expected to demonstrate respectful and supportive behavior.
Disruptive, confrontational, or unsportsmanlike conduct by parents may also affect the dancer’s standing and solo eligibility.
Social Media:
Posting full routines, choreography, or solo costumes on social media is strictly prohibited until the end of the competition season. This helps protect the integrity and originality of the performance. Negative or inappropriate posts by the dancer or their family members may also result in disciplinary action.
Dress Code:
Dancers are expected to come to class in appropriate dance class attire. Large/oversized clothes are a safety risk and not appropriate class attire. Dancers should wear attire that includes: Leos, shorts with tights, tennis shirts/skorts, leggings, non-baggie t-shirts, dance dresses, athleisure style clothing. Dancers in Hip hop can wear sweatpants and looser fitting clothing as long as it’s not dragging the floor and appropriately fitting. If dancers come to class, in inappropriate clothing, they will be asked to change or leave class for the evening.
6. Travel & Competitions
Competition Participation: Dancers are required to participate in all scheduled competitions. Failure to attend a competition may affect the team’s overall performance and result in a team member’s exclusion from future events.
Travel Arrangements: Parents/guardians are responsible for making travel arrangements for competitions. The studio may assist with coordination but will not be responsible for travel or accommodations.
7. Injury or Illness
Injury Notification: In case of injury or illness, dancers must inform the instructor immediately. If the dancer is unable to participate in rehearsals or performances due to an injury, a medical note may be required to return to classes or competitions.
Resting for Recovery: It is the dancer’s responsibility to take appropriate time to recover from injuries. Health and safety are a priority, and dancers should never push themselves to perform when they are not physically ready.
8. Media & Photography Consent
Photos & Videos: By signing this contract, the dancer and their parent/guardian grant permission for photos and videos taken during rehearsals and performances to be used for promotional materials, social media, and studio websites. If this is not acceptable, please notify the studio in writing.
9. Withdrawal from the Team
Voluntary Withdrawal: If a dancer decides to withdraw from the competition team, written notice must be given at least 8 weeks in advance. Any fees paid for competitions or costumes will not be refunded. Any dancer that wishes to withdraw from the competition team after September 18th will be charged $500 withdrawal fee due at the time of withdrawal. Parents must keep a card on file in their DSP accounts.
Involuntary Removal: The studio reserves the right to remove a dancer from the team due to consistent lack of attendance, failure to follow studio policies, or disruptive behavior. Any fees paid for competitions, costumes or miscellaneous items will not be refunded.
10. Acknowledgment
You agree that you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms and conditions of the competition team contract. You agree to abide by the rules and responsibilities outlined in this contract throughout the season. Both the dancer and the parent/guardian agree to support the studio, the team, and each other.
